Notes from Artificial Intelligence News - 9

Notes I took from the artificial intelligence news that caught my eye between March 1 and March 5.
- Hackers are developing a new type of cyberattack affecting large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and Gemini. These attacks aim to deceive users and infect their devices by using texts containing malicious code. These texts can be distributed via chatbots or through email, social media, and other online platforms. This new type of attack is quite dangerous due to the ability of LLMs to mimic human language. Users may find it difficult to distinguish text containing malicious code from real text.
- For the past few days, Elon Musk suing OpenAI has been talked about . I tried to ignore it, but there was so much news that I decided to add it here. There were those who mocked Musk, who sued OpenAI on the grounds that it departed from its founding principles. I am one of them. Elon Musk, who was one of the founders and early investors of OpenAI in 2015, resigned from his board seat in 2018, citing a “potential future conflict of interest” due to Tesla developing AI for self-driving cars. Apparently, he heavily regrets this decision he made. Last year, saying that the development of AI is very dangerous, he wanted OpenAI to pause developing AI technology for 6 months. Things are not going well for Musk, who later announced the Grok AI. Because right now, no one is even talking about Grok. The man is literally living the proverb ‘sour grapes’ live. I guess everyone is starting to understand what a great blessing it is for OpenAI that Elon Musk no longer has a connection with them.

- On Friday, March 1, Nvidia shares went on the offensive ‘again’ and sat in the 3rd place on the list of the world’s most valuable companies. Let’s see where this is heading… I will continue to follow it.
- By the way, Sam Altman’s net worth has crossed $2 billion, but OpenAI is not the reason. OpenAI founder Sam Altman’s fortune exceeded 2 billion dollars thanks to the gains he made from his investments. Other companies like Stripe and Reddit lead among these investments.
- Apple has canceled its electric car project code-named ‘Project Titan’. It transferred many of the employees working on the project to the company’s AI development department. While the AI race continues at full speed and all the big players make their moves, Apple still continues to use future tense suffixes. Apple’s CEO, expected to make his move at the iPhone 16 launch later this year, made a big claim. The generative AI they developed themselves will reportedly be revolutionary . We’ll see, we’ll see.
- Microsoft announced Copilot Financial AI Assistant. This artificial intelligence assistant is designed to help you automate and organize your financial tasks. With the financial AI assistant integrated with Microsoft 365, it could reportedly automatically pay your bills or send you payment reminders, track income/expenses, generate personalized financial reports, and provide advice to reach goals. When I list the features, it really impresses. I genuinely wondered what kind of experience it provides in real life.
- Here is another very interesting news piece: Ukrainian YouTuber Olga Loiek discovered that her AI clones were selling Russian products to China. AI clones were promoting and selling their products using Olga’s face and voice. Olga, naturally disturbed by the situation, explains the incident, which she describes as identity theft, with the video below.
- Microsoft
announced
that it is adding new features to Copilot for Windows 11. These new features are designed to help users become more productive and organized. Some key features of the new Copilot features are:
- Advanced Text Generation: Copilot can help you write text like emails, reports, and documents faster and easier.
- Coding Assistance: Copilot can help you fix bugs and write better code while coding.
- Meeting Summaries: Copilot can generate automated summaries of Microsoft Teams meetings.
- File Search: Copilot can help you find the files you are looking for faster.
- Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang reportedly predicts that artificial general intelligence (AGI) could be developed within the next 5 years. In a speech at a forum, Huang said that AGI’s ability to think and learn could become capable of competing with humans. Although some experts say that developing general artificial intelligence is very difficult, I think we shouldn’t underestimate the predictions of Huang, who is at the center of AI’s development.
- ChatGPT can now read out the provided answers vocally. It has been made available for GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 in 37 languages to increase users’ interaction on the go. I have never needed it, but it is undoubtedly a very useful feature for those who do.
ChatGPT can now read responses to you.

- Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly wants to cooperate with the South Korean tech giant Samsung on artificial intelligence (AI) chips. This collaboration aims to reduce Meta’s dependence on the Taiwanese company TSMC, which it currently relies on heavily for chip production. It is also said that during the meeting, Meta spoke about cooperating with the South Korean government on combating fake news.
