The most striking detail regarding the new update released for SteamVR was the official support for the product named Tracker by Tundra Labs , whose Kickstarter campaign achieved great success. The product, which will start shipping to users as of November, will thus be able to work fully compatible with the SteamVR ecosystem right out of the box.

Highlighted General Updates:

  • Full support added for Tundra Labs Tracker.
  • SteamVR installation size has been optimized and reduced.
  • A slight alignment issue in the grip position of the left Index controller has been fixed.

OpenXR Improvements:

  • Vulkan Support: When xrCreateDevice is called in the XR_KHR_vulkan_enable2 extension, the function pointers provided by the application will be used.
  • Controller Compatibility: It is now possible to simulate a “click” by pressing the ABXY and trigger buttons simultaneously on Vive Cosmos and HP Reverb G2 controllers.
  • Emulation: Emulation support has been added for some component paths that do not have equivalents in Oculus interaction profiles. This way, Cosmos and Reverb G2 controllers have been made more compatible with native runtime behaviors.
  • Input Fixes: The missing analog stick touch (…/input/thumbstick/touch) input path has been added for Cosmos controllers.
