Pico Neo 3, Pro, Pro Eye Introduced
Beijing-based virtual reality headset manufacturer Pico Interactive introduced its new VR headsets at an event held the other day. The Pico Neo 3, which appeals to end-users, went on sale in China. Meanwhile, the Pico Neo 3 Pro and Pico Neo 3 Pro Eye, which cater to the corporate side, are planned to be released in the 3rd quarter of 2021. They will soon be available for pre-order on the company’s website.

Unfortunately, the standard version of the Pico Neo 3 will remain exclusive to China. The virtual reality glasses designed for enterprise use, however, will reportedly also be available in the “Western” market. While three different prices were set for the Pico Neo 3 at approximately $390/$420/$470, a price tag of $890 was set for the Pico Neo 3 Pro, and $1250 for the Pico Neo 3 Pro Eye.
Reminiscent of the Oculus Quest 2 at first glance visually, the headset’s design and specifications actually look quite good on paper. I will be following how China’s decision to target only its own market on the consumer side will affect global competition.
