According to a report on the MacRumors website, Apple plans to release a virtual reality headset in mid-2022. The same report points to the year 2025 for augmented reality glasses.

It would be wrong to dismiss this news as a simple rumor. According to the AppleTrack website, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst whose predictions have a 78% confirmed accuracy rate, is a highly followed name among Apple enthusiasts.

For now, two different prices are being discussed for the VR headset. In the scenario that makes sense to me, Apple might ask 1000 dollars for the VR glasses and 3000 dollars for the AR glasses.

Considering that augmented reality glasses like HoloLens and Magic Leap are around 3000 dollars, it seems like a reasonable price. While global economic uncertainty persists, it would be wrong to say anything definitive just yet. However, if prices are at these levels, we can assume that the AR glasses will be aimed at enterprise solutions, just like with the HoloLens.

Considering that the price of the Oculus Quest virtual reality headset, the golden child of the VR world, is 300 dollars; I think we should expect Apple to offer its own unique services to attract users for the potential 1000 dollar price tag. Finally, just for the record, let me add that I expect highly innovative developments from Apple in the fields of gaming and movies for VR.
