We are now living in days where dimensions and our natural perception of reality are no longer enough. The need to wear a headset or glasses, which is one of the biggest dilemmas of VR technology, can be a torment for some. The ‘Holographic Display’ technology, which provides a solution to this from a certain angle, continues to advance at full speed. With the announcement made today by Looking Glass Factory , it is now possible to fit 3D outputs onto the screen with holographic image technology without the need for glasses, using Unreal Engine.

In collaboration with Epic Games, Looking Glass Factory has released a UE4 plugin so that content creators can visualize their designs using these holographic displays. The new feature is available not only for the video game market but also for industries such as automotive, architecture, mapping, and medical imaging. Considering how high the price bar is anyway, it wouldn’t be wrong to think that holographic display technology will first enter our lives for professional and business purposes.

Epic Games CTO Kim Libreri’s statement is as follows: “Having access to a glasses-free holographic display is a huge breakthrough and is exciting for those working in immersive computer graphics, visualization, and content creation. The holographic display offers a stunning level of realism, and we look forward to seeing the innovations that emerge with the support of content generated by Unreal Engine.”

I will also be waiting to see what this technology will bring.
