Founded in 2016 for enterprise augmented reality use, RealWear managed to receive an 80 million dollar investment led by Teradyne. With this investment, RealWear has achieved a total financing support of around 100 million dollars. In a statement from the company, it was stated that they plan to use the money to “gain more market presence and accelerate platform development”.

In a statement on the company’s page, RealWear’s founder and CEO Andy Lowery said, “It was important that RealWear’s new investors were leaders in the enterprise and technology spaces. Teradyne, Bose Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, and Kopin fit this description.”
