Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses Will Soon Be Able to Do Real-Time Translation
Starting next July, Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses will collaborate with the multilingual communication platform Zoi Meet to activate a real-time translation service with smart glasses. With this step, smart and augmented reality glasses developer Vuzix will be one of the first smart glasses capable of real-time translation.
With Zoi Meet’s application featuring a special translation algorithm, live translation of 12 languages will be possible, including Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Starting in July, the Zoi Meet service will be offered as an application on Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses and will work on the principle of automatically translating the sounds it hears from the microphone into text and projecting them onto the lens of the glasses.
Although the smart glasses, with a European price of 950 EURO excluding taxes, are primarily business-focused, their hands-free feature makes one think that smart glasses could be one of our new toys after mobile phones.
