A new research report has revealed that advancements in technology could create significant changes in the way the human brain functions. In the study report, researchers have begun an international collaboration that predicts some astounding developments that will take place in the world of the ‘Human Brain/Cloud Interface’.

Researchers believe that in the future, humans will be able to easily access information from the internet in real-time, and that this advancement could be made possible through nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and more traditional computing. The study’s lead author, Robert Freitas Jr., explained that nanobots embedded in the human brain would act as a liaison to human minds and supercomputers, subsequently enabling Matrix-style information downloading.

Robert Freitas Jr. via Eurekalert.org : “These devices will navigate the human blood vessels, cross the blood-brain barrier, and automatically position themselves among or even within brain cells. They will then wirelessly transmit encrypted information to a cloud-based supercomputer network for the real-time brain.”

In the related article, it was stated that with the BrainNet project, the interface will not stop after connecting humans and computers; instead, it could help a network of brains form a ‘global superbrain’ capable of initiating collective thoughts.
