Do shrimp have superpowers?
According to an article published in ScienceNews magazine, some shrimp species create an extremely fast water movement by snapping their claws shut forcefully underwater, which causes the formation of a bubble. Then, as this bubble collapses in on itself, it produces extreme heat and pressure reaching thousands of degrees Celsius, creating plasma—a state where electrons are freed from their atoms. Inspired by this magnificent ability, scientists created a replica of this shrimp species’ claw using a 3D printer and simulated the exact same event in a lab environment. The shrimp itself, its ability, and the video of the experiment are all simply amazing. ( Source )
